/u/shatteredmatt Please Aussie fans, chant this loud during the game with
the USA. Loud enough to get on TV 🤣 |
/u/RiteOfSpring5 Guarantee they'll fuck with the sound and quieten the
fan sound so you can't hear it. |
/u/shatteredmatt Telemundo won't mute it though. |
/u/Goddddammnnn Petty and work week reform. I should looking to this
Mexico /s |
/u/h3yw00d Hard to cut it out of a live broadcast if every mic in
the arena is picking it up.
I believe in you aussie blokes.
Edit: u's to i's because fat fingers on small phone. |
/u/RiteOfSpring5 They don't cut it out, they lower the sound of the mics
that pick up the noise of the fans.
Most live broadcasts have some time of delay for a few
seconds. |
/u/MarsD9376 Delay is irrelevant.
They can attenuate the ambient audio, but when the
whole stadium is one deafening chant about ...
something,,... well there's not much the production can
do except crank the commentary audio all the way to 11
and hope the ambient sound of the venue is drowned out.
But then the broadcast wouldn't not convey any
"atmosphere" of the event, which is kinda shitty.
The internationally distributed signal have separate
audio channels with clean ambient sound and english
commentary mix, so you can still get the "details" out
of it.
Well the sound director of the on site production can
operatively pull or push specific mics that cover
specific sectors if he doesn't "like" the particular
noises from there, but if he doesn't immediately know
where it's coming from, and react instantly, then the
noise get's picked up and it will be in the broadcast.
Also, sound has this "unfortunate" property that it's
omnidirectional. You can turn the camera away from
something you don't want to see, but turning a
microphone away from something you don't want to hear
isn't as easy. There are types of microphones that have
a very directional characteristic, but those types are
not generally used for picking up ambient sounds at
sporting events. |
/u/h3yw00d If every mic picks it up, what mic do they switch to? |
/u/Batavijf Prerecorded sounds of Party Approved Patriotic chanting. |
/u/DonChaote And generic sitcom laughter |
/u/boxywalls WWE live edits sound all the time. |
/u/BackDatSazzUp Can't quiet a cell phone video. |
/u/baron_von_helmut Watch the England game tonight. The fans have some
absolute bangers they will be singing for the whole
tournament.
"He's fat, with piles, he's in the Epstein files. Trump
the cuuuunt, Trump the cuuuunt." |
/u/BackDatSazzUp Lol please tell me it's to the tune of the Roy Kent song |
/u/SnooMacarons5169 Yes, although 'the Roy Kent' song is to the tune of The
Quartermaster's Stores, which has been used for
generations as the tune for footy songs. |
/u/206-Ginge In Seattle they'd probably get a lot of the US fans to
join in honestly. |
/u/nitrot150 Most of the stadium! |
/u/drunkcowofdeath It's way too wordy to be distinguishable on TV. They
need to tighten it up |
/u/redkid2000 I wonder how Fox News will distort the audio/spin the
story to make it look to their viewers like the Aussies
love the fat orange fuck? Like how they told their
viewers that when Trump got booed at the NBA finals,
that the crowd was chanting "USA! USA! USA!" |
/u/Nikotinlaus Love the Aussie fans. Back in 2006 I was at a world cup
game Australia vs Brazil (the only one I was able to get
tickets to even though I did not realy care about either
team). Had a seat in the Australia fan section and met a
lot of great blokes, very fun memorys indeed. |
/u/AdAfraid9504 I watched that game live on TV! |
/u/Nikotinlaus Yeah 3:0 for Brazil if I remember correctly even though
Australia played well. |
/u/Sans-valeur All this shit has got to be getting to maga surely.
They've definitely shut the fuck up on here for the
most part over the past 18 months.
Which is disappointing because there is so much shit to
give them lmao |
/u/OkCoconut3270 You'd hope so, but I doubt it.
To be able to still support that shit you really need
to be incredibly delusional and obtuse. They'll simply
think "these people are out to get us, but they're
wrong".
It's the same kind of brainwashed mindset that still
somehow believes they live in the best country in the
world. |
/u/Sans-valeur Oh yeah it's a cult for sure, but I think getting made
fun of by enough people for long enough has got to get
to them. If Australian kids are making fun of them like
this it's gotta sting. |
/u/kwmcmillan Back when Obama was elected there was a big "oh thank
god we don't look like assholes on the world stage
anymore" thing that went on, and Conservatives seemed to
take that personally, like being a global identity was
(in modern parlance) "not America-first".
It would not surprise me if the right's awareness of
our appearance on the global stage was actually quite
acute. |
/u/OkCoconut3270 Fingers crossed, if the world cup leads to even a
handful of people looking up some international news
sources to challenge their beliefs I'd consider it a
win. |
/u/jpsreddit85 The vast majority of maga would not know where Australia
is on a map. |
/u/baron_von_helmut For the most part, Russian troll farms are now empty of
people because they got sent to the front lines. Their
AI just isn't cutting it.
The rest have seen their bank balances drain, have lost
healthcare and can't afford the gas prices. They can
only blame Biden for so long before reality hits them.
They obviously aren't going to continue on the Trump
train because of this. Also, all the trolls who thought
it was funny, calling us cucks etc, no longer find it
funny.
The only hardcore supporters left are either
illiterate, tech illiterate or don't know what Reddit
is. |
/u/Hangry-Feline2489 I saw a woman wearing a Maga hat and tshirt in an aldi
in suburban Australia late last year.
And she was a full bogan Australian in a bogan part of
town, not a yank import.
So fuckin weird. I felt like reeling her to fuck off to
her people if she was so enamoured. We don't need
American politics or influence here any more than we
already do. |
/u/NecroDolphinn It's insane. I went to school in Melbourne and thought I
could finally get a break from MAGA, only to see them
waltzing down Flinders Street waving Trump flags. It's
the same fuckwits who think Pauline Hanson is a great
and reasonable politician |
/u/blklab16 I like to imagine they're too busy working 2nd and 3rd
jobs to keep their gas tanks full 🤡 |
/u/mysteriousmeatman https://giphy.com/gifs/5CyJGORW8UrZe |
/u/AnAussiebum 'caught' as if we did something wrong on the sly?
Sing it loud and proud my fellow aussie cunts. |
/u/coyylol English fans - Hold my shitty yank beer. |
/u/AdHom If you're not stuck inside the stadium and you're still
ordering a shitty macrobrew, that's on you. The US has
had one of the best craft beer scenes in the world for a
long time now. In terms of sheer variety it is second to
none, and I would put the top American beers up against
the best from Belgium or Germany with confidence they'd
give them a run for their money.
Edit: downvotes must be from people stuck living with
20 year old stereotypes, this is not a controversial
thing to say for people who are actually into beer. |
/u/coyylol Although the joke seems to be lost on you and you
decided to write a drawn out post on how American beer
is great, I thought I'd also pitch in with your average
England fan isn't going to be interested in craft beers
or microbreweries.
It's all about getting pissed, goading the locals and
singing songs about pedos, good beer has nowt to do with
it.
Luv me Stella, Luv me Donna, 'ate yank beer simple as!! |
/u/cpt_ppppp Lads, lads, lads, lads! |
/u/AdHom The joke wasn't lost on me, just thought I'd add a
related comment. It got longer when I saw the weirdly
negative response. I just love beer and like talking
about it - all good though, to each their own |
/u/MarstoriusWins Americans can't brew a proper lager. Take your vomit
tasting IPAs and go away. |
/u/TheMerle1975 Look, I love to shit on US exceptionalism as much as
anyone from any other nation in the world, and I am a US
citizen. However, objectively speaking, there are so
many small to mid size breweries producing just about
any style of beer you could want, and many you don't. A
lot of them are solidly good brews. A lot of them taste
like licking the stale Xmas tree air freshener in a NYC
cab.
I've had mediocre beer from the UK and Europe, and I've
had great beer. Taste is subjective, but trashing all
just because the Budweiser/Miller/Coors conglomerates
produce alcoholic piss water as their primary options is
kinda sad and myopic. |
/u/AdHom I just wanted to say, American Exceptionalism is the
furthest thing from what I meant to portray here. I
didn't say the US was the best, just among the best,
which I believe to be true. I didn't say we'd beat
German or Belgian beers, just give them a run for their
money. I have a lot of respect for the top tier craft
breweries and just wanted to help bring to light that
the common wisdom of decades past doesn't apply like it
used to - and I didn't expect this to be so
controversial because I guess I have been in an echo
chamber of beer enthusiasts and it's a pretty consensus
opinion. |
/u/AdHom Just factually untrue. American lagers win awards in
Europe regularly. Tahoe Pilz by FiftyFifty Brewing
Co.won a gold medal for pilsners at the European Beer
Star awards two years back (a year where US brews won 32
medals). 801 Pilsner by Uinta Brewing Co. won a gold
medal in German-Style Pilsner at the 2026 World Beer
Cup, which Pils by Von Ebert Brewing also won in 2025.
Wander Back Lager by Wander Back Beerworks took gold in
the Munich-Style Helles category. |
/u/baron_von_helmut Lol, this guy brews. |
/u/Rdtackle82 Dude you're not wrong, but come now...read the room |
/u/Spork_the_dork Yeah and this painting won the famous Bucksbaum Award in
2022 but that doesn't mean it doesn't look like shit. |
/u/AdHom Obviously both taste in art and taste in beer are
subjective but, if you ask the beer subreddit or any
beer related forum or community it's a pretty widespread
opinion that the US is among the top beer countries,
excluding the major macro breweries. Have you actually
tried these beers before forming your opinion? Or any
craft lagers?
While there are such a vast number of beers that lots
of them are also not very good, there are also lots of
extremely good ones. |
/u/tnews20 Gotta love them Australians |
/u/CaffeinatedTuesday Proud to be Aussie 💚💛 |
/u/njf85 Lol how long till Pauline's all over the news crying
about this on behalf of her idol |
/u/Abunchof5s Yes lads! I hope he gets the fucken lot the dog! |
/u/Ninjalada Proud of you blokes 🫡 |
/u/sexeveg314 You think they let Iranian fans in? They kick the actual
Iranian team out the evening of every match, they aren't
even allowed to stay the night after the match. |
/u/Sans-valeur I watched the NZ vs Iran game, their fans were super
loud, good natured and enthusiastic. Wearing their teams
colors and everything.
I mean it fucking sucks what the team is going through,
but they definitely had fans turn up. |
/u/zka_75 Not to say they're not fans but they only let
American-Iranians in, no fans from Iran itself were
allowed |
/u/Sans-valeur Oh yeah the situation is shitty no doubt and it's a
fucking embarrassment for FIFA and the US how it's being
handled.
But they're Iranian and they're fans, and there are a
lot of them.
Completely unfair for the fans who aren't allowed to
come but to say that the Iranian team are playing
without any fans would be completely inaccurate.
Honestly I was worried it would be more like that but
they definitely had a lot more fans than we did in the
stadium during that match (which makes sense, there's
not that many of us). |
/u/OkCoconut3270 it's a fucking embarrassment for FIFA and the US how
it's being handled.
You need to be able to feel and process shame to be
embarrassed |
/u/BackDatSazzUp I wish they would have found a way to put Iran's games
in Canada and Mexico. I'm so pissed at the government
and FIFA for this BS. |
/u/NecessaryNinja1024 Keep in mind that LA County is home to the largest
Iranian expat community in the world (~90k) and call LA
'Tehrangeles.' They may disagree on politics but they
love their team (except for the small group of MIGA
'make Iran great again' monarchists). |
/u/jolinar30659 "Kash Patel is on a bender. Donald Trump's a sex
offender." Is fits. |
/u/Reginald_Venture I've said it before, but American sports fans need to
get better at chanting. Just boos comes across as noise. |
/u/bugsyramone The Tarps Off 'movement' in baseball is starting to make
an effort. |
/u/mikmongon And just like that, I started having some interest in
soccer |
/u/Runinbearass Yeeeeeeeewwwwwww!!! Send it lads!!! |
/u/GioJamesLB "Trump can't spell Iran, and he has a bad orange tan." |
/u/Solistaria Louder for the pedos in the back!! |
/u/masterpd85 Im still surprised fans didn't crash his party on DC and
do some chants outside the White house. |
/u/Advanced_Aspect_7601 They are legally correct |
/u/O8ee He'd sue them for slander if they were lying... |
/u/Darkwing_Turducken "Caught?" Were they trying to chant stealthily? |
/u/Sebastian0707 An somalian referee wasn't allowed entry in the US. What
makes you think they would ket iranians in? |
/u/Peacemaker1855 "He's fat, He's old, He likes them 12 yrs old!" |
/u/pepperpat64 But but but the whole world loves and respects tRump!!
