/u/LaloMcNombres We are the worst monkeys ever. |
/u/FILTHBOT4000 Nah, pretty much par for the course for primates, and
other animals at that. Bigger monkeys will pin down
smaller ones and eat them by peeling them apart, just
because they like doing it that way. The way adult
macaques treat little Punch in those viral videos is
also very much par for the course for their behavior in
the wild; they will bully, abuse, and torment/torture
the socially awkward, even if they're young.
Reverting to this tech neofeudalism is more
animalistic, more base and primal than what we'd define
as 'human' in comparison to beasts: the big, powerful
get to take all they want. |
/u/oberonkof Not true, studies have been done with monkeys hoarding.
The other pride members attack them abd take everything
of them and share.
He should be made to give his money back to the
countries and people's who suffered to fund his and his
ancestors greed. The same as all the others sat on dirty
money. |
/u/Bozzzzzzz We need Robin Hood more than ever. |
/u/theartofrolling Unfortunately he's a capitalist day trading app now |
/u/macronotice I love this whole metaphor because it lets you know who
thinks everything they need will just naturally grow on
trees in the wild for them to pick at their leisure. |
/u/StrengthBeginning416 Well pretty soon they'll start to figure out that AI
can't buy Amazon groceries or Teslas. Wealth on paper is
different than tangible bananas if you ask an Ape |
/u/lolatyourbs Except, that thought process assumes billions of humans
are a necessity. We aren't. |
/u/Excellent_Valuable92 Not "we." I'm not a billionaire |
/u/milkyheika Monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground |
/u/libertad740 Under appreciated song! |
/u/CampPineCone Cornelius and Zira should study us. Tay-lor! Tay-lor!

/u/be_reasonable_bro Wouldn't be much left to study. I'm pretty sure the
other monkeys would tear the first monkey apart. |
/u/Marx_Forever Exactly it's not the first monkey that would be studied.
It's perfectly natural for animals to hoard resources
for themselves. It'd be the rest of the monkeys that let
them get away with it that would be the fascination. |
/u/Spookyrabbit It's not. While it is perfectly natural for non-pack
animals in snowy winter climates to hoard resources for
themselves and relatives to survive the frozen winter
months, across the rest of nature animals take only what
they need to survive1.
1 Except in the case of orcas that have developed a
taste for the livers of great white sharks. That's
almost entirely recreational eating but they still don't
hoard the livers. |
/u/Hestiathena No no, all the hoarding monkey has to do is begrudgingly
give a few bananas to two specific groups of monkeys.
One group fights any other monkeys that get too close.
The other group tells the rest that tearing the hoarder
apart for any reason is evil, because maybe someday
they'll be the ones with all the bananas. |
/u/peon2 I'm pretty sure scientists/psychologists/psychiatrists
have studied things like narcissism, greed, selfishness,
and lack of empathy quite extensively. |
/u/send_in_the_clouds Yeah they have. Apparently the more rich you become the
less you need to read peoples emotions as you become
surrounded by people who want to please you.
This to me does make sense, as they do seem genuinely
confused why poor people can't just work harder or spend
less frivolously. They basically become completely out
of touch and lose the ability to feel empathy like we
do. |
/u/godtrek I actually think it's more interesting that the other
monkeys don't kill that hoarding monkey, and instead,
rather starve than take those bananas by force, because
I don't think there's something wrong with a monkey
hoarding bananas, that sounds like something a monkey
would and could do, what is more concerning and
interesting from a study perspective, is all the other
monkeys rather die slowly and painfully rather than
doing anything at all to solve this problem.
Rather than speaking in metaphor. I'll speak plainly.
If I was an alien who came across earth, I would be more
fascinated why all the people on earth even tolerate or
allow this to occur when literally the difference
between them keeping all that money and not, is our
unwillingness to do anything about it. We've been
intellectually and emotiobally captured and we're being
held hostage, we've been conditioned since birth that
it's wrong to do anything because to do anything that
changes anything, requires a firm action such as purging
the top and redistributing the wealth so lift the floor
up so it's toching the ceiling. How convenient, that
it's "morally wrong" to survive and remove the tumor and
cancer from soceity because "cancer are people too",
when in this metaphor, being a cancer is a choice, so
it's morally wrong to stop people from choosing to be
cancer and we just have to accept it?
They've offloaded all the responsibility and ethics
onto us, so we have to consider if we're evil or not for
prioritizing peace, and it's not their responsibility or
ethics to minimize the chances they'll be killed for
doing evil. It's ok to murder people for profit, it's
not ok to murder the people who murder people for
profit. That's how they've fucked us from birth, so we
feel frozen when it's time to act. |
/u/Opposite-Current7407 But he's not sitting on the bananas. Everyone is walking
around using his bananas. |
/u/MasterTittie Best comment, the harsh truth |
/u/plastic_alloys They've invested a lot of money ensuring the masses are
busy raging about immigrants instead of these ghouls |
/u/Lanky-Relationship77 Immigrants and LGBTQ people. Anything to distract the
marching morons away from the fact that they are getting
their pockets picked by these pricks. |
/u/FYIgfhjhgfggh Don't forget the droves of writers, publishers,
journalists, bloggers and the rest who happily went
along and sung in tune for a tiny slice of the pie or
just for lols. All of them morally disconnected from
their effect on society. And the fools that believe and
repeat their speil without comprehension. People will
stab you for an empty wallet. Being a billionaire makes
it easy. |
/u/Numerous-Bonus-8107 I'm convinced the dude that got assassinated trying to
build a giant gun that would shoot satellites into space
for like 1% the cost of a rocket launch (only he was
trying to build it for saddam Hussein after Canada
canceled it), had way better ideas about exploring space
than Musk could even be able to read about and
comprehend. |
/u/CurvyChristina https://giphy.com/gifs/xkmNi280NkrcY |
/u/Alpha_Omega623 I am not a fucking lab rat. |
/u/Numerous-Bonus-8107 prove it, take back the single income family style
economy and stop them destroying the ecosystem with data
centers to see if us rats adapt or die off from deep
within their bunkers. |
/u/_ChimpOut_ This but forcing us to live with the uncivilized |
/u/unclecastr0-_- but we can't solve world hunger straight away eh |
/u/BitNumerous5302 If nobody was starving and he only had a dollar that
dude would still be just a cunt |
/u/Swamp_Thing85 You're not wrong, but at least I wouldn't know who he
was. |
/u/Haunting-Ad788 Tbf he doesn't have a trillion dollars, he has multiple
heavily overvalued meme stock companies. |
/u/Dramatic-Ad7192 Soon to be backed by our 401ks |
/u/Large-Shelter-5149 Thankfully not too soon, integration rules went
unchanged
https://spotgamma.com/spacex-ipo-index-changes-spotgamm
a/ |
/u/WhoPutATreeThere The Nasdaq and Russell are both changing their rules to
let them in, last I saw.. This will force those funds to
buy an estimated $22B-$27B of SPCX. Aka we will be
bailing out xAI with our 401ks.. |
/u/D3Construct And god knows how many subsidiaries and suppliers that
keep people employed and fed. |
/u/mhcrayz Yeah this. I don't understand what people expect him or
other billionaires to do. Sell all their shares and
donate the money for something? As long as there is a
stock market and successful businesses there will be
billionaires and now even trillionaires. |
/u/The_New_Overlord Yeah, net worth is not the same as actual money in the
bank. He has far less actual cash, and yet, still far
too much. |
/u/DandadanAsia yes but at the same time. NO. 'cause he can use his
shares of SpaceX or Tesla as collateral to borrow shit
ton of money from bank and use it for hooker and blow.
Rich people use "Buy, borrow, die" to have a luxury
life. |
/u/protexy This. It doesn't exist as real money for tax purposes.
It does exist as real money for loan collateral
purposes. The "I'm really not rich guys! I have to
borrow money to survive!" card is such bullshit because
they do it to avoid paying taxes, and those loans have
an interest rate so low that it's basically nothing. |
/u/Electronic-Worry4077 Don't need to explain that here it's Reddit. People here
don't understand valuation. They think this guy
literally has 1T sitting in his Bank of America 0%
interest checking account.
You can't even turn all that valuation into 1T in cash.
It's all inflated. The moment he sells maybe $200b
everything just crashes and his total net worth drops
signify |
/u/HumphreyPoopypants Let's not forget he also cut off funding that directly
resulted in children starving, as well as screw worms
and some other things. |
/u/mattjb Not just starved, but outright killed hundred of
thousand of children in a very short span of time. But a
neo-Nazi doesn't care if a significant number of African
children die.
https://www.theverge.com/tech/949259/the-worlds-first-t
rillionaire-is-a-killer |
/u/PCmaniac24 He also cut necessary funding for jobs that need to
exist.
Friend of mine lost their job at the VA because of
DOGE, and then saw the exact same job listed under a
private business job application.
Come to find out they needed that job, but now instead
of paying someone directly, they are paying a company
that takes more for profit, and the person working the
job is making significantly less income.
So more spending, not less, and the overhead of more
paperwork and less efficiency. |
/u/hernablig Let's not rob him of accolades. He's also the richest
fake science genius of all time. |
/u/v_cats_at_work Apparently he wouldn't even be a billionaire by today's
standards, worth "only" a couple hundred million USD. |
/u/linkedinlover69 Why does he feel the need to incite 'race wars' and
divide instead of becoming the msot liked person in the
world by fighting injustice, hunger, corruption and so
on? |
/u/Excellent_Valuable92 Because all those billionaires care about impressing
their deranged, ketamine-addled peers and don't care one
bit about the rest of us. |
/u/linkedinlover69 Yes, understandable. Why not get love everywhere and
respect by actually tackling issues? There are enough
everywhere. I honestly don't understand |
/u/scipio0421 Remember he was offered the chance to literally end
world hunger using a small portion of his fortune,
including a detailed plan on how it would work. He said
"nah." |
/u/Excellent_Valuable92 These people are fucked in the head. They follow a vile
philosophy that stems from their vile values. It is
absolutely insane. Bezos, for example, could have made
Amazon into an amazing place to work, a model of
sustainability, and an asset to communities and probably
have just as much money. |
/u/linkedinlover69 Instead he bought an important newspaper and influences
politics. I guess humans can never get enough. |
/u/CarpenterRadio Anti social personality disorder seems to be common
amongst them. Makes you wonder how they were raised and
in what kind of environment.
They don't see us as human or if they do they see
themselves as something more. |
/u/Excellent_Valuable92 We know Thiel was partly raised in pro-Nazi,
pro-Apartheid community. He was brought up to see humans
as unequal and himself as the best kind. Musk was also
brought up among pro-Apartheid beneficiaries of this
thinking. I think an ideological rationale is as
significant as the psychological flaw. |
/u/plastic_alloys You don't become a trillionaire by being a good person,
or a normal person with a normal penis |
/u/weareeverywhereee Yeah what's crazy is usually ketamine has the opposite
effect - makes you want to help others more, oneness
with all, etc. psychs can really break an ego down -
amazed the ego loss doesn't hit him |
/u/Choice_Volume_2903 Because you can only become that wealthy by screwing
people over in the worst ways. When a person behaves
like that, they develop a kind of fortress mindset and
lose the capacity to relate to anyone else in an
authentic or meaningful way. It makes them incredibly
lonely, angry and bitter, and results in the behavior
you described. |
/u/inprocess13 In a world where children were at risk of running out of
air, he called their rescuers pedophiles and then went
to go work with one. |
/u/irish_faithful For the trillionth time, you do realize that money isn't
liquid right? He doesn't have a bank account with $1
trillion sitting in it. Governments have way more cash
than he does. Be upset with them for squandering tax
dollars on stupid stuff and not feeding starving
children. |
/u/thatwasagoodscan Do people think being a trillionaire/billionaire means
you have literally trillion/billion dollars? Like cash? |
/u/EppuBenjamin No, nobody thinks that.
But we do think he can take a loan on his assets and
buy what ever the fuck. Like another overvalued meme
company. Which in practice is the same thing as having
cash.
Or even better, bc he gets to keep the collateral. |
/u/rice_n_gravy Nobody? Seriously? Have you read Reddit? |
/u/Kheypression Plenty of people actually do. That's why they believe he
could solve world hunger. |
/u/AxeSkewsMe The trillionaire title is symbolic of a really stupid
and broken system and just stroking the ego of these
sociopaths and giving them more power. Elon literally
became the first un-elected billionaire to run a fake
department in the US government. The title is far more
valuable than actual cash. |
/u/Artemus_Hackwell IKR? The alleged trillion is a potential value of what
is promised to him after he completes a bullet list of
various successes as defined by the board of a publicly
traded company.
Including the value of current share holdings, value of
assets at his privately held concerns, market worth of
those concerns.
He doesn't, and no one else has a trillion dollars in
liquid form.
That would be like the fictional character Scrooge
McDuck. |
/u/Mu57y Genuinely astounding the number of people who talk about
wealth this way. Even ignoring the fact that most of
this wealth is equity, his liquid cash is constantly
being spent, lent out (via banks), and/or otherwise
circulated. There's no "hoarding" lmao |
/u/meatinmybriefs Just because an asset isn't liquid doesn't mean it's not
an asset. |
/u/Jesusfailedshopclass https://giphy.com/gifs/bISrck3AsmWUU |
/u/MikeTiricoSucks Reddit is so jealous of other people's money
If you want to solve world hunger so bad, get a flip
phone and send $25/month to charity instead of paying a
$100 phone bill for your super computer made by a child
slave in China |
/u/sikon024 I was doing that with my taxes and he cancelled USAID.
He took food out of the mouths of starving children...
And remember the time he offered to pay to end world
hunger if shown a plan and a budget? And backed out when
given a plan and a budget?
We're not jealous of his money. We're disappointed that
so much of the world's capital and power is held by a
complete Cunt. And a probable pedo. |
/u/Unbiasedj Why not put blame on the mayors, governors, and leaders
of their own city/state instead of using Elon as an easy
scapegoat lol
Are we gonna blame Elon for the rampant homelessness in
CA where Billions of tax payer $ is wasted on solving
said issue? |
/u/autouzi Because the Epstein class buys the government and makes
the laws? |
/u/CarpenterRadio Why not provide your comprehensive solution to
homelessness and wealth inequality instead of JAQ'ing
off all over the place? lmao |
/u/Substantial-Equal661 Nice try, but no one here blamed him for homelessness in
CA. I can tell that you are used to your logical
fallacies tricking people that you actually know what
you're talking about. |
/u/marjer6 Billionaires and trillionaires... Not millionaires
because I am one. - Bernie Sanders |
/u/Vegetable_Heart369 Everyone who agrees with this has no idea how the world
works |
/u/Simalt443 Nobody thinks he's sitting on a vault of cash with 1
trillion in it bozo |
/u/lewd-Euphoric-robot Then you do understand how the world works, and still
agree with something demonstrably false? |
/u/Simalt443 I don't think he's sitting on 1 trillion of liquid
assets and at the same time I think he's a disgusting
greedy sack of garbage. Not hard to understand. |
/u/alliejim98 With Elon being a trillionaire, or with the post? |
/u/Pathetian I don't think its the first part people don't
understand, its the second part. You can't solve manmade
famines with money. People are mostly starving in
conflict zones like Palestine, Haiti, Sudan etc. No
amount of money can feed those people. You need an army
to go in and overthrow the locals if you want to feed
anyone who isn't being fed. In the case of
Palestine...you kinda need to overthrow Israel which
means overthrowing the US as well I think. Assuming Musk
woke up one day and wanted to go balls deep on trying to
feed Palestine, 1 trillion dollars cannot overthrow the
US. And I doubt anyone would be cheering if he announced
he was going to send mercenaries to take over Haiti.
I don't like Musk, but some things can't be bought. You
can't just Venmo someone in Sudan some money for
DoorDash to solve that crisis. |
/u/Soft_Function_6357 says someone who's never donated a dollar |
/u/ilmalocchio It's easy and fun to volunteer donations from someone
else. Especially if they have more than me, because that
must mean there's something wrong with them. |
/u/Leather-Glass6504 People not understanding founders owning capital stock
will always be frustrating |
/u/Automatic-Guide-4307 Greed will be the end of us and we seem unable to stop
it. |
/u/Defiant-Car834 It's funny how people don't understand wealth. It's also
funny how people simplify complex issues into a simple
pretext of a man being a cunt. |
/u/Sword-of-Akasha "Look at those starving children, I could totally feed
them and give them an education, housing, ya know the
works. BUUUUUT I won't hahahahahha. I could! But I
won't! It'd be not even the relative cost of a burrito
for me. But I won't! Their suffering gives makes me
soooo hot." |
/u/Livid-Writer-7741 TAX THE RICH AND CHURCHES AND PEDOPHILES |
/u/JaxCon2121 Ah yes the famous pedophile exemption law |
/u/IsSomeonesThere Goverment take 99% money from progressive taxes to
themselves and only 1% goes to the people who nees momey
btw. Social justice politics are not effective. |
/u/TeasingChloe It's the absolute lack of subtlety that makes it a
masterpiece. |
/u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 as if any of you are different. There are starving
children while you live in apartments with air
conditioning |
/u/solidlymediocre The fact is a single, enormously rich donor has far, far
more impact than a million donors that give 10 bucks
each. This goes for politics, sports, charity Etc |
/u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 From a quick google search there are more than 2 billion
people who have more than $10k
Each of these people can make a donation of $100 (0.1%
of their net worth)
That will result in 200 billion dollars in liquid cash,
which is far more money than Elon could ever liquidate |
/u/CarpenterRadio And then....what? Americans were pooling their tax
dollars to end child hunger and disease overseas but
Elon put an end to that.
An entire apparatus and infrastructure dedicated to
ending poverty and disease, dude could have just given
USAID more money instead he dismantled it.
Weird that there hasn't been a single conviction or
corruption charge based on DOGE's "investigation" as
well, seems like USAID was actually functional and by
all accounts making every dollar go as far as possible.
He did manage to steal and disseminate ten of millions'
of Americans SSN's so at least there's that. |
/u/Excellent_Valuable92 It's not a problem that can be solved by out charity.
Musk is capable of funding systemic change |
/u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 You can too. In third world countries you're by all
means rich and can fund programs, start companies, hire
people etc |
/u/Ilovebooks2345 I have a few statements/questions
1.Was that 10K in liquid assets or net worth?
Where did you learn math? It's 1%, not 0.01%, which
would actually only be €10
Did it occur to you that these people may have things
to save up for, such as buying a home?
10K is not a lot of money when it comes to living, in
Ireland, for example, the cost of living for a family of
4 (rent, utilities, food) is quoted as being as high as
€5272 a MONTH, meaning, in this case, 10K wouldn't
even cover 2 months.
€100 is not a small sum of money, a Google search
showed that that is around the cost of a week of
groceries for a family of 3 in Ireland. |
/u/KindaWannaDoIt But if people can't blame the Elon, who do they blame
for their own position in life? You can't seriously be
advocating for people to be accountable for their own
decisions. Sir, this is Reddit. |
/u/kingfofthepoors 20% of my incomes goes to feeding the hungry |
/u/FantasyTrash Imagine bootlicking a trillionaire, my goodness.
Also, I pay these things called taxes. So yes, I am
different and certainly a better person than Elon Musk.
Now, unfortunately, those taxes are being used to fund
Israel and a war on Iran no one asked for, but I would
prefer if those taxes did, in fact, actually help
people. |
/u/SasquatchPhD I donate money, pay taxes, support social programs, and
directly help people on the street when I can - while
having a net worth that is a laughable, barely fraction
of his. And I don't have air conditioning.
Maybe you're just a douche |
/u/ddplz There are starving children while city dwellers buy $30
starbucks orders and ubereats their meals daily. |
/u/Cuandoman https://giphy.com/gifs/eOsjVyuzpObF0uvUVs |
/u/Additional-Gur2444 Stop portraying rich people as naive or dumb. They know
exactly what they're doing |
/u/WelpThatHappened81 The worst part is he actually thinks 1) he deserves it
and 2) he's making the world a better place. Huge lack
of truth on both counts. This is not the person to lead
us into a healthy future. |
/u/BoxsterMan_ He doesn't have a trillion dollars...his value is a
trillion. What don't you people understand? |
